You got outta school already? When do you guys get out?
I'm just finishing semester 1 here, so I have lots of summatives and exams :\
I think it's spelt communism. And do I hate it? I don't know, I've never experienced it, although I don't think it's as good (in my opinion) as our Democracy.

>_< facepalm.jpg Sorry, I guess I shoud have descibed what a semester is more clearly. Here, there are 12 grades, with a 13th optional if you want more credits, but I'll get into credit later. Grades 1-8 are elementry, and 9-12 (or 13) are high school. In all of these grades, there are terms and semesters. They are just time spans during school that they use to measure the time that teachers have to teach a course, although the number of semesters and terms vary from elementary and high school. In elementary, there are 3 semesters, no terms, and high school has 2 semesters and 4 terms, a term lasting half a semester and a semester lasting half a full school year. To graduate from High School, you need at least 30 credits. There's more to the credits, like there are 12 'optional' credits (you an fill these credits with whatever you want) and there are mandatory credits that you NEED to get to pass high school (like The Arts, which would be music, visual art or drama). You get a full credit for passing any course that lasts a whole semester, and half a credit for courses that last only a term. But, there's more to courses. There are different 'levels' you may take for each course. 'Academic' (which is my level) is the highest level. You need to take this level to get into University, 'Applied' will get you into just College or below, and 'workplace', the easiest level, will just help you out for a job right after highschool, nothing higher. You can take up to a max 8 courses in a full school year, having 4 courses one semester and the other 4 the next semester. At the end of each semester, there are summatives and exams. All the courses will have a 'summative task', which for classes that don't have exams count as 30% of your FINAL MARK, but for classes that do it is only 15%, with Exams covering the other 15%. A summative is like a 'project/task' that you must complete (they are always difficult and take a lot of time). Exams are huge tests which are very, very hard and last about 2 hours. We get a week break to have exams, and if you don't have an exam, or only a couple, you can enjoy some extra days off. Remember, not all classes have exams. Now back on credits; you may also take 'extra' credits, such as summer school, extra courses during lunch hour (like music for example) and before school classes (like repetoire band). As well on top of this, you need at least 40 volunteer/community service hours. I have no idea why, but you just do. After high school, you may go on to an apprentiship program, straight to the work place or University or College. And I think that's it. Have fun reading it Damn that took a long time to type >.>

Wow... O.O Detaiiled...xD I dont think anyone will read this Ouch...;/
Neways..Thats skool? Wow..;/ For us here, We have 4 exams a year. And we dont really need that much to pass high school. But to get to a University (Overseas or local) them we gotta get good grades (like all A's) for SPM. (Major exam) I'm not really sure about the rest tho..;/ I just got into high school...xD Owh and to get into boarding school, there are only 2 times you can go in. After UPSR or after PMR. To get in, we gotta get UPSR: 5 A's and PMR: 8 A's. Basicly, all A's. But after PMR, If youre a guy, even with 6 A's you can get into boarding school...
